The e-Services portal of FTA is including new features that will allow the Taxable persons to link accounts with an accredited Tax Agency. Thus the registration procedures, tax return submission and all other tax transactions will be carried out by the Tax Agencies on behalf of the Taxable Person.
In order to ensure compliance with the tax procedures on the requests submitted by the taxable persons and businesses the Authority has introduced the new update.
The simple procedures mentioned on the FTA website will let the taxable person to link the account on eservices.tax.gov.ae with that of an accredited Tax Agency. Thus, the tax agent would represent the taxable person in all their transactions.
The Director General said that, the FTA is developing its services to ensure flexibility and constructive interaction with the business community to avoid disruptions to the tax system.
Following four simple steps, Tax Agency can be given access to the Taxable Person’s account through the “Taxable Person’s Screen”:
- Select “Appoint New Tax Agency” / “Add New User”
- Enter the registered user’s email address
- Click on “Search” to verify the email address
- Finally, click “Connect” to link.
The Tax Agency will be able to access the Taxable Person’s account by going to the “View Linked Users” option and then selecting “Authorize Editing”, allowing the agent to edit the taxable person’s data on their behalf.
The Taxable Person is given permission to allow authorization to edit only to one agency at a time and for a specific period of time. This authorization can be cancelled only by the account’s owner.
The Agency is free to link with more than one Taxable Person. It must be registered and accredited by the Authority; they must also register with FTA as a Tax Agent. The Agency will be issued a Tax Registration Number (TRN).
